Road Closures
Urgent road repairs are to be carried out by the County Council.The roads affected are as follows:
Post Office Lane, from its junction with the Roman Road/Palmers Cross to its junction with Oakfield Drive will be closed for 3 weeks commencing on 1st February to facilitate carriageway patching works. Similar works also lasting 3 weeks will also take place on the Roman Road from its Post Office Lane/ Palmers Cross junction to its junction with Bestmans Lane. These closures will not be in place simultaneously and signs will be displayed prior to the closures commencing. There are exemptions which will permit access to any land or premises having a frontage to the highway affected where there is no other form of access.
GAS MAIN IMPROVEMENT
National Grid has informed residents of Post Office Lane that work is to commence between January 25th and February 3rd and continue for approximately 6 weeks to replace the existing metal gas main with a new plastic pipe and to reconnect premises with new piping. At this time it is not known how these works will interact with the road repairs listed above. Further information will be posted on the Hub if and when it is received.
