Re-opening of Libraries Following Coronavirus
We are pleased to announce that all of Worcestershire’s libraries will once again be open for business this September!
Libraries in Warndon, Alvechurch, Catshill, Bewdley, Rubery and Upton have reopened today on Monday 7th September.
Hagley and Woodrow Libraries will re-open later in the month once essential building checks have been completed and signed off.
The County Council has worked closely with local library volunteers throughout the phased re-opening, and it is thanks to their help and support, that Hagley, Upton and Catshill are re-opening this month.
Library customers can now browse, borrow, return and reserve books and pre-book a computer session at all re-opened libraries. Desk spaces for study and/or Wi-Fi access can also be pre-booked, perfect for those returning to school, college or university.
The Digital Library Hub has been a real success story during the pandemic and continues to provide online content, events and activities for customers.
We are working towards re-introducing more services in libraries in line with current social distancing restrictions and will update you as we have news to share.
Normal borrowing terms and conditions will recommence as all libraries re-open. The return date for all items borrowed before 10th August has been extended to 30th September. From this date, normal overdue fees will apply. Any items borrowed by customers from re-opened libraries since 10th August are subject to normal borrowing terms and conditions.
Opening times for re-opened libraries, details on Mobile Library routes and full details how to book computer sessions and desk spaces can be found on the libraries homepage or by calling the customer contact centre on 01905 822722.
We look forward to welcoming more customers back to Worcestershire Libraries in the forthcoming weeks.
