General Data Protection Regulation

All organisations in the country will be expected to comply with the new Data Protection Regulation when it comes into force on 25th May 2018. In preparation, Kempsey Parish Council has compiled a Personal Data Audit and Privacy Notices and Consent Form using the toolkit supplied by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC). The Privacy Notices and Consent Form are available to view below.

The Government tabled an amendment to its own General Data Protection Bill to exempt all parish and town councils and parish meetings in England, and community and town councils in Wales, from the requirement to appoint a Data Protection Officer under the General Data Protection Regulation. This amendment will shortly be discussed in the House of Lords where it is not expected to be overturned.

All other measures will still apply.
