Kempsey is a large and diverse parish in South Worcestershire covering 1307 hectares (5 sq. miles). It now has a population exceeding 4300 in 1750 households. The Parish comprises of Kempsey village plus the settlements of Green Street, Kerswell Green, Stonehall, Baynhall, Napleton, Broomhall, and Clerkenleap.

Kempsey is surrounded by open, tranquil countryside. On its western boundary is the River Severn and its Hams, which are very rare Lammas land. On its southern boundary are Ashmoor Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Normoor Common, and Kerswell Common. On the eastern boundary, we have, Kempsey Common and Stonehall Common. Community facilities in the Parish include a small doctor’s dispensing surgery, Church, village shop and Post Office, farm shop, Primary School, Youth Centre, Parish Hall, Playing Field, Community Centre and six Public Houses.

There are a wide range of businesses in Kempsey: everything from one person working from home, through to larger companies.

Road and Footpath Closures

17th February 2025 - There will be a temporary closure of U60000 Taylors Lane from its junction with A38 Worcester Road to its junction with Pear Tree Drive due to new development works. 3rd March 2025 - There will be a temporary closure of U60000 Taylors Lane from its junction with C2055 Norton Road for 400 metres in a westerly direction due to new development works by St. Modwen Homes. 1st April 2025 - There will be a temporary closure of part of U60012 Bestmans Ln, Kempsey from its junction with A38 Main Road for  a distance of 360 metres in an easterly direction due to drainage and flood alleviation work by WCC. 5th April 2025 - There will be a temporary closure of part of C2056 The Nash from its junction with A38 Main Road to its junction with U60010 Kerswell Green due to carriageway patching for surface dressing by WCC. This is expected to be in place for 2 days and is due to commence between 5th April and 15th April 2025. For more information, please click here. 17th April 2025 - There will be a temporary closure of part of the Link Footpath F60036 Church Street (btw no. 42/44) from it's junction with U60023 St Mary's Close to it's junction with U60018 Church Street due to footway reconstruction by WCC. Daffodil Planting
