Kempsey is a large and diverse parish in South Worcestershire covering 1307 hectares (5 sq. miles). It now has a population exceeding 4300 in 1750 households. The Parish comprises of Kempsey village plus the settlements of Green Street, Kerswell Green, Stonehall, Baynhall, Napleton, Broomhall, and Clerkenleap.

Kempsey is surrounded by open, tranquil countryside. On its western boundary is the River Severn and its Hams, which are very rare Lammas land. On its southern boundary are Ashmoor Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Normoor Common, and Kerswell Common. On the eastern boundary, we have, Kempsey Common and Stonehall Common. Community facilities in the Parish include a small doctor’s dispensing surgery, Church, village shop and Post Office, farm shop, Primary School, Youth Centre, Parish Hall, Playing Field, Community Centre and six Public Houses.

There are a wide range of businesses in Kempsey: everything from one person working from home, through to larger companies.

Road and Footpath Closures

1st-19th April 2024 - There will be a temporary closure of U60011 Draycott Lane from its junction with A38 Main Road to its junction with C2056 The Nash, due to carriageway patching by WCC. 9th April 2024 -  There will be a temporary closure of C2220 Squires Walk from its junction with A38 Main Road to its junction with U60016 Squires Close, due to a hydrant renewal by Severn Trent Water. 15th April 2024 - There will be a temporary closure of C2055 Norton Road from its junction with A4440 Norton roundabout to its junction with U60000 Taylors Lane due to carriageway resurfacing by GN Groundworks Ltd. This is expected to remain in force for 2 nights (20:00-06:00) between 15 April 2024 and 17 April 2024. For more information, please click here. 29th April-20th May 2024 - There will be a temporary closure of A38 Main Road from its junction with U60003 Brook End Lane for a distance of 600 metres in a northerly direction due to carriageway resurfacing by WCC. This is expected to remain in force for two nights (19:00-6:00) between 29th April and 20th May 2024. For more information, please click here. 13th May 2024 - There will be a temporary closure of C2220 Old Road South from its junction with U60014 Meadow Close to its junction with U60013 Pixham Ferry Lane due to carriageway reconstruction remedial work by M V Kelly Ltd. Puffin Crossing Outside the Community Centre

Phase One of the construction of the Puffin Crossing will commence on 1st February 2024. It is expected that the work will take 5-6 days and it will see the removal of the Leylandii trees so that the pavement can be widened to accommodate the new infrastructure and control lights.
